Weekly Recap #1: Birthday Planning, New Laptop, & A Busy Week

Welcome back to Currently Unpacking! Let’s catch up.

Overall, this week was actually pretty solid. We kicked off training at work, which always brings some extra energy (and chaos), but it feels good to get things rolling. I got to spend some time at the pool, cooked some yummy means, and bought a new laptop (!!). So, all in all – not bad at all.

Highs of the Week:

  • Starting to plan my birthday (More on that soon because it’s gonna be cute as hell.)
  • Getting my new laptop – there’s just something so fresh and motivating about a new device.
  • Making it through a hard week. That in itself is a win.

Lows of the Week:

  • Sleep? Never heard of her. I definitely didn’t get enough this week, and it’s starting to catch up with me.
  • Still in that weird limbo of not being moved into my new space yet, which is making things feel unsettled and frustrating.

What I’m Unpacking:

  • Something that’s been sitting heavy and tender with me this week: the realization that I’m not alone. Like – not in the fake “you’re never alone” way people throw around, but in the real, quiet, surprising way that sneaks up on you when you’re having a hard time and someone shows up. People care about me. And I’m finally letting myself believe that.

Little Joys:

  • Watching movies (comfort rewatches and new one alike)
  • Listening to music that makes me feel understood
  • Cooking meals that made me proud of myself
  • Cats being little weirdos

Looking Ahead:

  • My goals for this week are to stay focused and on task at work, connect intentionally with at least one person, and carve out space for myself – especially on the busier days when it’s easier to just go into autopilot. I’m trying to be gentler with myself, even in the middle of the rush.

That was my week in a nutshell! Let me know how your week was. Thank you for being here and I can’t wait to continue on this journey with you!

Talk soon,

Sam
